Thinking outside the box can cause a few problems. First it goes against "main stream" and in my case against your "normal" cookie cutter board shape. Now when i say "cookie cutter" i'm talking about your standard short board thruster that everybody and their brother has, you know, 5'11" or 6'0" x 18 1/4" x 2 1/2". I'm not saying i don't like those boards, but only when its head high, glassy, and offshore! Now where i live thats only about 15% of the year. And when its that 15% of the year i can only make it out about 10% of the time. So what does that mean?

With age comes wisdom, usually. As is this case it does. Ive gotten to know on old local and his  son over the last year or so. SInce living in Dar Bouazza Morocco i have gotten to know a lot of locals. Some i have great relationships with and others not so great. But with one particular guy (pictured below with his son) ive really gotten to know well. While sitting in the lineup one day out by my house it was just this older man and i and we bgan to talk. After listnening to him for some time i really didnt care about the waves, i just enjoyed listening to his stories.

Sorry for the lapse with blogs! As stated in the heading, i was away getting some much needed REST! Its been almost 1 1/2 years since ive taken extended time off from the shop. Over that time much has happend, i stress the word much. Although some of the things that have happed have been for the better there has been plenty of negative things as well. But if your a bit older and into your 30's you know as well as i do its usually the difficult times and stressful moments that makes us stronger and a better person.
